I hear once you go Mac you don't go back.  We'll see how this goes.  I'm making the switch from Microsoft to Mac and I'm a little scared.  I got a pretty good deal though.  I got the MacBook, a touch screen ipod, a printer, Office for Mac, .Mac, and the Apple Care Protection Plan all for around $1700 (after rebate). We ate lots of yummy brunch items at Amrheins.  Then we scooted over to the Adams National Historic Site.  We went to the birthplace of both John and John Quincy Adams and took a tour of the Old House. We had a great time.  They had music, crafts, helicopter rides, cranberry products, and demonstrations.  My favorite part was the harvest tour.  They had both wet and dry harvest demonstrations going on. Admission was only $2.00 and totally worth the drive to Wareham from Somerville.  Plus the weather was beautiful. We went with our godson and his moms to the zoo over labor day weekend.  We also went on a whale watch.Went to the Boston Folk Festival with my mother.  Did some apple and pear picking. Bar Harbor has a sandbar (hence the name Bar Harbor)that can be traveled over during low time and gets covered by water during high tide.  I have heard stories about people parking their cars on the bar to go hiking and coming back to find their vehicles under water.  Yikes! We woke up at the crack of dawn to volunteer at Waltham Fields this morning.  Waltham Fields is a farm that grows food and donates it to food pantries and soup kitchens in the area.  We harvested tomatoes and peppers and did some weeding too.  I think harvesting the peppers was my favorite part.....then the tomatoes....and finally the weeding. We stayed at Howard's End Guest House  which  is close to the monument and a good place to sleep if you are looking for quiet and affordable accomodations.  We spent some time with other friends who were in Provincetown for the weekend. She had a mammogram and they found an abnormality.  She went for an ultrasound yesterday.  They said that they didn't think she had much to worry about.  The ultrasound revealed that she had big ducts.  Whew!  What a relief! I am proud of her.  She has been through so much in the past two years.  I had my bone density test.  They told me I was dense.  This is good news.  I had my enzymes tests done too. My enzymes are normal...my IgG is low.  So...she is taking me off the Prednisone and increasing my Imuran to 100 mg QD.  This is very good news.  I'm a little concerned about being on the higher dose of Imuran.  Will I have cold sores left and right.....will I get colds more often?
